Empty Plates, Portraits of Childhood Hunger in Maine
A Childhood Hunger in Maine Advocacy Project
Our goal in Maine is to not only raise money, but also to increase awareness of childhood hunger. In our state as many as five percent of households are experiencing hunger -- that equates to thirty thousand hungry kids, or more.

As part of Taste of the Nation 2007 to help create more awareness of this terrible situation we have commissioned an exhibit of documentary photographs focusing on childhood hunger. They will be unveiled at Taste of the Nation.

The exhibit, "Empty Plates: Portraits of Childhood Hunger in Maine," features the work of Tim Greenway and Brandi Neal, graduates of Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. This documentary exhibit showcases portraits and essays about children affected by hunger and people working to help those children throughout Maine.
